Although a lot of snow melted this past week, there is still a pretty  deep snow pack in the woods so I wasn’t going out hiking this afternoon.  Decided to just sit and relax and watch my feathered friends show up for dinner. I love watching birds at my feeders. Cardinals, downy woodpeckers, house finches, sparrows, juncos , titmice, nuthatches and black capped chickadees all showed up for a snack. Was surprised when the flock of turkey hens also showed up. They haven’t been around for weeks, when the gobblers (male turkeys) chased them away.  Must have been twenty cardinal 4 (1 of 1)of them. I will post a video after this post.

We got a good arrangement going on here. I provide the birds with seed and they let me take photographs. Pretty good deal. And I get their delightful songs thrown in for free. No deer for a few days. I am guessing since the snows melted they found other feeding grounds. Won’t be long until the rest of the song birds return, and the bears will be foraging for food soon too. I love my backyard. Here is a link to some more photos I took of my back yard friends at my feeder.   https://keepyoureyespeeled.net/photographs-5/nggallery/blog-photos/backyard-birds-march-17-2015cardinal (1 of 1)
