Didn’t have a lot of time today, I have a meeting in a half hour, but you don’t need a lot of time or have to go far to see the beauty of nature. I took a quick walk through my neighborhood with my macro lens and captured some closeup photographs of these beautiful Spring flowers. Crocus and daffodil (18 of 21)

The crocuses are one of the first flowers to brighten our drab Winter gardens here in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Some years you can see them popping up through the snow in late February. but not this year. They are late but better late than never.   Crocus originated in Europe and are one species is famous for the expensive spice saffron which it produces. They were imported to Holland in the late middle ages and now add beauty to our Spring landscapes. In Greek mythology they sprouted up from the love of Zeus and Hera. Crocus 1 (1 of 1)

Daffodils are another plant with origins in Europe and with a long history. They are associated with the myth of Narcissus . Another Spring favorite they too, are late this year but very glad to see them blooming. here is a link to some more photos I took of these beautiful Spring flowers. https://keepyoureyespeeled.net/photographs-5/nggallery/blog-photos/crocuses-and-daffodils-april-15-2015Crocus and daffodil (16 of 21)
