<![CDATA[Another cold day here in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Actually had a dusting of snow on my deck this morning. We had a strong northwesterly wind all day but the skies cleared and the sun came out. And the cold didn't matter, to me, anyway.

The robins and other migratory birds are still here and establishing their territories to build there nests. The flowers continue to bloom and the woods are starting to show hints of green and red as the first trees, the willows, aspens and red maples, start to set their buds. A beautiful time of year to be outside no matter how cold it is. railroad tracks (2 of 21)

And so after work I took a short hike out the railroad tracks near my house. It was windy and cold but the strong April sun sure felt good. And I always love deep blue skies. I didn’t see a lot of wildlife, a few birds but did find, what I think, is a rusty mud salamander. He wasn’t standing still to let me get a good photograph of him. salamander (1 of 1)

It wasn’t the most exciting hike I took but it’s Spring and it’s always good to be outdoors. and who know’s what i might find tomorrow. Here is a link to some more photographs I took on my hike today. https://www.keepyoureyespeeled.net/photographs-5/nggallery/blog-photos/railroad-hike-april-24-2015railroad tracks (14 of 21)

“The sun was warm but the wind was chill.
You know how it is with an April day.
When the sun is out and the wind is still,
You’re one month on in the middle of May.
But if you so much as dare to speak,
a cloud come over the sunlit arch,
And wind comes off a frozen peak,
And you’re two months back in the middle of March.”
