Wasn’t the nicest Spring day, cloudy and cool, but it’s still Spring and and it seems something new is sprouting or blooming everyday.leaf (1 of 24)

I took my macro lens on a short walk out to some ponds near my house. Photographed some flowers starting to bloom in my moms yards. Won’t be long until all the Spring flowers are in full bloom.

In the woods a few more trees are starting to bud. The pussy willows are starting to leaf and found a yellow flower I think is a coltsfoot.  A lot of plants were pushing up through the leaf litter on the ground. Unfortunately my camera battery died so couldn’t take photos of the skunk cabbage,  cattails and other plants growing near the ponds. So, although we didn’t see the sun today, still was a nice day to be outside and watch the wonders of spring unfold. untitled (11 of 24)

Here is a link to some of the photos I took before my camera battery died. https://keepyoureyespeeled.net/photographs-5/nggallery/blog-photos/spring-macro-walk-april-14-2015untitled (24 of 24)

.no matter how complex or affluent, human societies are nothing butsubsystems of the biosphere, the Earth’s thin veneer of life, which is ultimately run by bacteria, fungi and green plants.  Vaclav Smil
