I am not a cross country skier or snow shoer so not many options where I can walk in this heavy snow pack. Thanks to the local snowmobilers, there is always a somewhat clear trail in the Lehigh River Gorge.Lehigh Gorge (21 of 37)

Took advantage of this and headed down there on another frigid morning. And I again found a frozen winter wonderland, much more like January than March. The river is completely  ice covered in many areas. And where there is water flowing it is in narrow channels amid the ice on both sides. And the ice formations on the cliffs are as thick as I have ever seen them. So beautiful with the tints of blue, gray and silver.  Buttermilk Falls is totally frozen and snow covered.  It was a beautiful icy world but I am so ready for flowers and trees, birds and bees. The ice walk in a winter wonderland until next Christmas.   Lehigh Gorge (24 of 37)

Winter hung in there, like an invalid refusing to die. Day after grey day the ice stayed hard; the world remained unfriendly and cold.”
