About a month ago, a flock of gobblers, male turkeys, chased off the hens that had been wintering in my back yard and have been visiting ever since. Likturkry 4 (1 of 1)e the deer, they have their feeding hierarchy  with the bigger, older birds eating first. I threw  out some sunflower seeds yesterday afternoon and was able to get some closeups. What do you think, do  you agree with Ben Franklin, and think they are  “vain and silly’, do you think they are handsome or do you think, like some of my friends, that they are just downright ugly? Whatever you think i am sure that they sure look attractive to the turkey hens out their, especially during the next few months, when mating season begins.  can’t wait to get photos and videos of the males strutting and fighting for the gals. Here is a link to some more photos of the turkeys.   https://keepyoureyespeeled.net/photographs-5/nggallery/blog-photos/back-yard-turkeys-march-9-2015#gallery/7940ec1f02bb59df84d6b7fbf16939ab/967

Turkey 2 (1 of 1)

For the Truth the Turkey is in Comparison a much more respectable Bird, and withal a true original Native of America… He is besides, though a little vain & silly, a Bird of Courage,  Benjamin Franklin.

All great pics of a beautiful bird, but I think you saved the best for last in the album. I like that one. And I think their proballly smarter than any eagle anyway! Ben had the right idea for our national bird. Lol
