I got home from work today to hear a commotion going on in my backyard. It seems two younger gobblers  (male turkeys) joined up to oust the big old timer who had been been chasing after the hens feeding in my yard. I got to my window to see them chasing him into the woods.turkey 4 (1 of 1)

The two than immediately began wooing the hens by strutting about with their feathers spread out. The old timer watched from a safe distance in the woods. Here are some  a link to videos I uploaded to YouTube of  the gobblers strutting after the hens. All but one of the hens ran off. The one that stayed seemed to enjoy the dance. https://youtu.be/gmvKETEWxf0 https://youtu.be/2i8z6sNvi3E.

The old gobbler watched from a distance and it seemed as one of the gobblers strutted around the hen the other made sure the old timer wouldn’t interfere. It seems like he was helping his friend out. And the hen and his friend took advantage of the situation as seen in these videos.  Interesting. I have never saw this before. https://youtu.be/Hrw0RcVJZvo https://youtu.be/bOjs17DrBFA

After the two were done the two gobblers once again began strutting about the yard while the old gobbler just watched safely from the distance.  I am guessing it is only a matter of time for these two birds tt go at it to see who gets to rule my backyard. I took a few more photos of the turkey and here os a link to the photos. https://keepyoureyespeeled.net/photographs-5/nggallery/blog-photos/turkey-may-18-2015turkey (15 of 16)
