Summer Clouds And A Thunderstorm.
Like most of the country, we’ve been having some hot and humid weather here in Northeastern Pennsylvania. I have always loved the Summer and it is never too hot for me. I also love the many cloud formations the warm weather brings.
The intense sun in the Summer months can cause puffy cumulus clouds to form on even cool days but it is on the warm and humid days that they are in there full glory.
Today we had more thin wispy clouds around when I gt home for work and decided to take some photographs.
I knew there was rain in the forecast but still decided to take a walk and enjoy the beautiful cloud formations. I wasn’t too far out when I heard the distant rumble of thunder. I love thunderstorms but not in the middle of the woods.
I headed home but the storm was fast moving and the rumble of thunder got nearer and a lightning strike near me got me running as fast as these old legs could carry me. I got home just as the skies opened and torrents of rain fell. The storm didn’t last long but i sure did enjoy it. I am hoping we get many more before the summer ends.
Here is a link to some more photographs i took of the changing summer sky this afternoon.https://keepyoureyespeeled.net/photographs-5/nggallery/blog-photos/thunderstorm-and-clouds-july-21-2015
“Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer’s day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time.”
