Who Will Love A Little Sparrow?
It cold and blustery here in Northeastern Pennsylvania, so didn’t take my camera on my walk. The cold weather isn’t stopping the flowers from blooming or the birds from singing.
The chipping sparrows joined the other birds at my feeder today. I love watching these little fellows eat. I took these photos of a few chipping sparrows at my feeder last week. The chipping sparrow is distinguished by it’s brown cap and black line through it’s eye. Although they all have these markings in common, it seems each of these new arrivals from their Winter homes, have their own unique features and characteristics. There beautiful songs add to the growing chorus of bird songs which awaken us in the morning. i sure do miss them in the Winter.
I feel it is a fair trade, my providing them with seed in exchange for them letting me take their photographs and entertaining me with their wonderful songs. They are very welcome in my back yard and their presence reminds me of this beautiful Simon and Garfunkel song. This is a link to this beautiful song and video.
And this is a link to more photographs of these beautiful creatures. https://keepyoureyespeeled.net/birds-of-pennsylvania/nggallery/birds-of-pennsylvania/chipping-sparrow

My Dad was a “bird man” too. One of his favorite sayings: “God must love really LOVE Sparrows ….. He created so many of them!”
My dad too Andrea, he’d cut up bread every day. he loved watching them. He would be birds with conspicuous features nicknames. He called one robin “crewcut’ He returned to our yard for many years. Yes I think God loves all of His creation , and so should we.
Beautiful photos, Frank. Just lovely.
Thanks Andrea, I love sharing them.
